RE: Ouch...These lessons are expensive

well i tried a lot of the same things:C first time i was pullin the 5vr out of the driveway my son ran up and waved me to stop. he had a funny look on his face and asked, how far are you going. i said about 10 miles. he laughed really hard and said he didn't think the power cord was that long. i now have a check list, works great

RE: Is staying under the factory tow rating really possible?

this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!! I was going to go upstairs and rent a movie but now, I don't have to. lets think about this. first I am one of the 3/4 diesel owners. I pull a 32' outback sydney. yes I'm pushing the capacities of my truck. do I do everything possible the be as safe as possible. YES. could I be the guy who don't give a s**t about being safe
YES! could I be the guy who uses flawed logic so my conscience is numb to the issue. YES. everybody will argue their point some fact some half truths. oh, by the way are half lies. all this is, at the end of the day we answer to ourselves. I only hope everybody tries to do what's right.
just remember if something goes wrong and you start to doubt the choices you've made your conscience will never let you rest.

RE: Window sealant - too much research, now I'm confused.

yes your thinking is right. i did it about the same way.
couple of tips. the heads on the screws are very easy to strip use a screw driver that fit perfect. the butyl caulk is very hard to remove.
i had to use a 2" metal putty knife and a rubber mallet. than i use a knife with a curved blade. i don't know what it called but it looked like a eagle beak:h. well whatever its call it worked very good digging that s**t i mean stuff out. i didn't silicone because the butyl squeezed
out around the frame so much i needed to trim it off.

RE: pin weight help

my 2 cents
just weighed my 2007 GMC 2500HD classic Dmax/allison 4x4 extended cab. with me 200lbs, full tank of fuel 26 gals, 16k superglide hitch and bed cover.
I was a little shocked, it weighed 7040lbs. front axle 4040lbs rear axle 3000lbs.
popular opinion say i will be hard pressed to stay under my gvwr 9200lbs with a 5er pin weight 1730lbs(owners manual)

RE: Can't Update Ad-Aware

I an not a go to computer guy. But I do have a go to guy.
My guy used Ad-Aware. I ask him a question about ad-aware his reply,
I don't use it anymore. He informed me of a program called CCleaner.
he told me to do a test. run ad-aware and get rid of everything it finds. then run CCleaner and see what was left behind. I now use CCleaner. just select what you want to scan.

buying correct hitch

Hi all.I am shopping for a fifth wheel hitch (pull-rite superglide). I have a 6'6" bed on my 2500 gmc so i am looking at the auto sliders. I was told to get a 16k hitch for my 11200 gvwr 5er. but there is also a 14k hitch. i don't want to save a few bucks over safety .
some guidance please. Kevin

goodyear marathon tires

I was doing some reading and came across some tire talk. the topic was the Goodyear marathon st tire with the circle "S" on the sidewall. Is this S in plain sight? they also went on to say if there is no S Goodyear would replace with the S series. the tires i have are D rated. anybody have info on this?

RE: rv insurance

thanks everyone for taking the time to answer my post.
but from your help I have another question
can I keep my trailer on a separate policy from my truck while in tow?
I see there's a lot of options, but being a beginner I guess I'm just trying to get the most bang for my bucks. like company, coverage on what
and yearly cost for such. If you all don't mind that I ask, guess that should have been my first question.
thanks again, Kevin
